A temporary bicycle parking facility solves a parking problem that will resolve itself: an event, a renovation, a busy season. Some parking problems are temporary, and it would be a waste to solve them with permanent street furniture. The classic example is an event: thousands of bicycles for one weekend, then nothing for months. A construction site where staff temporarily need somewhere to leave their bikes. Or a municipality that wants to assess whether a location works before committing to a permanent facility.

In all these cases, the same logic applies: the problem is temporary, so the solution should be too. Lightweight equipment that can be positioned quickly, a clear layout with wide walkways, and signage so that visitors find the parking area without resorting to locking their bike to the nearest fence.

Larger events involve more than simply placing racks. The parking facility needs to be situated on the natural approach route, the exit must not cut across pedestrian flow, and the peak moment at the end, when everyone collects their bike at once, calls for generous pathways and, where necessary, stewards. A pop-up facility can also be staffed or supervised. Particularly at multi-day events where bicycles remain overnight, a supervised parking area gives visitors the reassurance that their bike will still be there the following morning. Stewards, security personnel and even a paid parking service with on-site handling can all be hired separately, so the facility is exactly as comprehensive as your event requires.

For recurring events, the pop-up bicycle parking facility quickly becomes a fixed item in the run sheet. Same week, same layout, same point of contact. As a result, the second edition requires noticeably less preparation time than the first, and the numbers become more precise each year because they are based on actual counts from the previous year rather than on estimates.

Even during long-term placements, maintenance remains our responsibility. Should a section become damaged or subside due to nearby works, we replace or repair that section. You can optionally extend your arrangement with stewards, security, signage or a paid parking facility. Should anything change during the rental period, we will adapt accordingly: additional sections are almost always available for immediate delivery from our stock of over 60,000 cycle spaces, and extensions can be arranged without reconfiguring the entire installation. Scaling down is equally straightforward; if part of the setup turns out to be unused, we will collect those sections during the rental period and you will no longer be charged for them.

You submit a quote request with the location, the period and an estimate of the number of bicycles. If you do not yet know the exact numbers, we will advise you based on your expected visitor numbers and comparable projects. We respond with a complete proposal: model, number of sections, set-up time, dismantling time and a single all-inclusive price with transport. On the agreed day, the parking facility is in place before it is needed. Throughout the rental period, there is a single point of contact for any questions or adjustments. If unexpected numbers of visitors arrive, we add extra sections; if the project overruns, you can extend it with a single phone call. And when it is all over, we collect everything, including at night if the site needs to be clear by the following morning.
